step into the grid

From The Grid EP on Sacred Bones

DIRECTOR STATEMENT

Shot entirely on active and abandoned subway platforms and stations, rail tunnels, and through the CCTV's of the NYC MTA subway system, Step Into The Grid is a neo-noir homage to the gritty streets of NYC in the 1980s, youth gangs, and the photography of Bruce Davidson. It also features one of the last remaining phone booths in NYC, discovered in a decrepit underground parking garage in uptown Manhattan. The phones all still worked - their signal can be heard in the beginning and end of the video.
